Introduction Questions

What does ‘epistolary explorations’ mean to you?

‘Epistolary explorations’ to me means the study of letter writing: its impact, format, and position throughout history as well as how the practice applies to modern day. For me, it means a way of improving my writing process and developing it so that I can pursue writing in essay and letter formats, both in work and personal projects.

What are you excited about in this course?

I am excited to see and read the real letters from Muhlenberg, and see how letter writing applies in context to history. I am also intrigued by the Epistolary Fiction project as I have an idea for writing in epistolary format.

What concerns do you have about this course?

The main concern I have is comprehending and being able to fully express ideas and such from the letters, as I am not as acquainted with nonfiction writing as I am with fictional stories. Also, I worry about if can properly write essays thorough and skillful enough to be acceptable for future college courses.
